Of Human Interest...
Some years ago, a German scientist counted the hairs on different human heads. He found that they vary in number, depending on hair color. He reported that more hair is found on a person with black hair than red hair, more on brown than black, and more on blonde than brown. For example, a black-haired woman has about 110,000 hairs on her head and a blonde has around 140,000. He also found that the average woman with a thick head of hair will lose up to 100 hairs per day. Suc
JUST FOR KIDS...
I have a question for you… have you ever thought of being salt? Yes, salt, like the kind that comes out of a shaker that is sprinkled on food to make it tastier? Well, as strange as it may sound, Jesus once said: “You are the salt of the earth.” Then He added, “but if salt has lost its taste, it is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet” (Matthew 5:13). Now, Jesus didn’t say that we should be salt or that we will be salt. He sai
HOLY SCRIPTURE IN YOUR LIFE
Bible Study of the Month “Imitating Christ as His Witness” The church has its own language. We use words like sin, forgiveness, liturgy, & sacraments as our vocabulary. Another word that comes to mind is “witness” & you might recall the Apostle Peter standing up at Pentecost saying: “This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses.” Acts 2:32 The ministry of the Apostles was entirely focused on proclaiming the resurrected Christ, whose body they had seen with

After about a half mile, the boy stopped and stooped over with his hands on his thighs to catch his breath and the game warden finally caught up to him. “Let’s see yer fishin license, boy!” the warden gasped. With that, the boy
A Letter from the Pastor
Greetings to you in the name of Jesus Christ. The world is filled with imitations. Famous brands of expensive watches have resulted in competitors who produce low quality watches that look nearly identical to the costly brand, but sell for a mere fraction. Sometimes the off-brand name is only one letter different than what many would call “the original.” From lawn mowers to jewelry, fashions to food, computer programs to carpets, imitations abound. Some result in patent infri

The Resurrecton is a Physical Truth
God’s salvation is physical. Jesus, the incarnate Son of God and the eternal second person of the Trinity, became flesh and blood. His death on the cross was a deeply physical suffering for our sin. Consider His thorns, His scourging, His nail-pierced hands. Through His death, God’s judgment against sin is satisfied. By the bloody sweat of Jesus’ brow and the back-breaking weight of carrying His cross, Jesus has undone Adam’s curse. By His physical resurrection, Jesus promise
