From the Pastor

Some people would have you believe...
Some people would have you believe that the Lutheran Church and her teachings aren't relevant in today's world. Some people would have you believe that the historic Christian faith is no longer powerful or meaningful as it once was. Some people would have you believe that the crucified and risen Lord Jesus is out-of-step with our times. To all these people, I say: "NOT SO FAST!"

The fact is, the Lutheran Church and all her teachings and doctrines are ALIVE and WELL! The historic Christian faith is ALIVE and WELL! The crucified Lord Jesus is ALIVE and WELL...and don't let anyone tell you otherwise!
Granted, these "Last Days" are tough days for all true, Evangelical Christians. The Apostle Paul told young Pastor Timothy, "Understand this, in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying it's power." Timothy 3:1-5a
In addition to all this, Jesus told His audience in his Sermon on the Mount, "The gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." Matthew 7:14

In these words, Jesus shows us our sins and describes the path on which we, as repentant children of God, seek to walk and finally "enter by the narrow gate" And what is the "narrow gate"? Namely, the Word of God, saying: "I am helpless. God help me. All things rest in your hands." And true to His faithfulness, He answers saying: "Just cling to My Word and I will uphold you. When you find yourself in any extremity or distress, you will learn to continue in My Word. My Word will liberate you and make you a true disciple."Herein the true Christian faith it ALIVE and WELL. And we pray, "Dear Jesus, walk with me on the narrow way that leads to life, lest I stumble or stray. And by Your Holy Spirit give me the power and ability regarding Your Word to PASS IT ON. AMEN.
